Week to 16 October 2026: 876 commits from 18 people and 22 releases, with 589 of those commits in AD4M, Elohim and The Epistemic Resonance Protocol.

In the 7 days to 16 October 2026, 18 people committed 876 commits, and 22 releases were published. AD4M took 273 commits, Elohim 193, and The Epistemic Resonance Protocol, a Holochain hApp for epistemic discourse, 123. Together they made 589 commits, 67% of the week's total.
For builders the week's shape is a shared target: Holochain 0.7.1 and its JavaScript client now sit on the same 0.7.1 line, while File System Zome was ported to Holochain 0.7. A 0.7 DNA is a new network, so moving to it asks builders to plan how their data carries over. The leads below are a publish fix in Holochain, a wait added to the Epistemic Resonance Protocol SDK, and BiteRelay's payment checks.

@Mbd06b, @solarpunked and @HexaField committed on all 7 days

In the 7 days to 16 October 2026, @Mbd06b committed on 7 of 7 days to Elohim. @solarpunked committed on 7 of 7 days to Your Own AI and Flowsta Vault, and @HexaField committed on 7 of 7 days to AD4M. @TrevorWysong committed on 6 of 7 days to BiteRelay, and @StateofIntent on 5 of 7 days to The Epistemic Resonance Protocol.

Holochain retries a publish when no recipient peer is there

Holochain is an open-source framework for peer-to-peer applications. @mattyg merged pull request #6020 on 9 October 2026. Before the change, a publish with no recipient peers still returned success, so the last publish time was updated anyway. Now the workflow returns an error, which causes a retry with exponential backoff.
In a local run of a mixed-arc Unyt scenario in Wind Tunnel, a performance testing tool for Holochain, full-arc peers accepted commitments from zero-arc peers in about 15 seconds instead of 6 minutes, as @mattyg reported. For builders, a publish that reaches no recipient peer now fails and retries rather than reporting success.

The Epistemic Resonance Protocol SDK waits for cited evidence to arrive

The Epistemic Resonance Protocol, a Holochain hApp for epistemic discourse, keeps every claim with its history, critiques and evidence. Pull request #260 by @StateofIntent, merged 12 October 2026, changes how the SDK handles a claim that cites evidence still in transit. Before the change, a legitimate claim citing freshly published evidence was refused for as long as propagation took, between 415 and 943 seconds, although the cited entry was usually already on a peer.
Now the SDK waits, by default for 1,200,000 milliseconds, and reports progress while it does. If the wait runs out, it returns a typed error that says the payload is still valid rather than rejected, and lists the unresolved hashes. The change is merged but not in the published 0.1.2 package, so an app installing from the registry does not have it yet.

BiteRelay checks each payment against what each order leg owes

BiteRelay is a food delivery app with no middleman, built on Holochain. Pull request #1 by @TrevorWysong, merged 10 October 2026, checks each payment against what each leg of a completed order owes, and recomputes order totals during validation. Driver collateral is posted at pickup and returned on delivery.
An order publishes its area and never the address, and drop-off notes, saved addresses and phone numbers stay sealed. Customers' conductors place scheduled orders, and stores' conductors auto-accept and settle fee shares, with no app needed.
AD4M merged pull request #1438 by @HexaField on 15 October 2026, so a refused or interrupted link write leaves no partial link. File System Zome merged pull request #2 by @Soushi888 on 12 October 2026, porting it to Holochain 0.7 and fixing delete and update bugs.

Holochain and its JavaScript client both move to 0.7.1

Holochain published holochain-0.7.1 on 14 October 2026, and holochain-client-js published v0.21.1 on 15 October 2026, upgrading its Holochain dependencies to 0.7.1. hc-spin published v0.700.1-rc.0 on 14 October 2026.

Presence and Pricing Oracle CLI publish releases

Presence published v0.14.12 and v0.16.4 on 9 October 2026, and Pricing Oracle CLI published v0.2.1 on 15 October 2026.

Epistemic Resonance and Raindex orders publish releases

Epistemic Resonance published v0.2.0 on 12 October 2026, and auto-update will not offer it to 0.1.x users, who must download it manually. Raindex orders published v0.4.0 on 12 October 2026, then v0.5.0 and v0.6.0 on 15 October 2026. Holochain pull request #6042 by @zippy, which keeps the 0.7.0 wire layout for capability grants, is open and under review.
