25 people made 1,301 commits in the week to 30 October 2026, most in Elohim, Social Production and The Epistemic Resonance Protocol, with 22 releases alongside.
In the 7 days to 30 October 2026, 25 people made 1,301 commits across the active code bases, and 22 releases shipped. Most of the work landed in 3 projects: Elohim with 373 commits, Social Production with 218, and The Epistemic Resonance Protocol with 199.
For builders, whether an update is an in-place patch or a network change decides what existing installs can carry forward. Epistemic Resonance v0.3.1 keeps the same network and cell as v0.3.0, so existing installs upgrade in place. ValiChord 0.6.7 has DNA hashes that differ from v0.6.6, so it runs as a separate network. The leads below cover an AD4M sandbox for app JavaScript tools and a Kitsune2 close step.
Epistemic Resonance 0.3.1 is a patch that auto-update offers to 0.3.x installs
Epistemic Resonance is a desktop app for shared knowledge, packaged with its own Holochain conductor. Version 0.3.1 was published on 27 October 2026. Its release notes say it keeps "the same network and the same cell as 0.3.0, which is why this is a patch."
Auto-update offers the release to anyone on 0.3.x. The release also adds a Your promises section on the Domains tab, which publishes a constitution for a named domain without founding one.
ValiChord 0.6.7 moves to a separate network from v0.6.6
ValiChord is distributed integrity infrastructure for independent verification, built in Rust on Holochain. It published 0.6.7 on 28 October 2026. Its DNA hashes differ from v0.6.6, because 2 integrity zomes changed, so it runs as a separate network from v0.6.6.
The release also adds reveal-phase rules. A reveal phase must list the whole cohort of validators, and each study needs a minimum number of distinct validators. The notes call it the first release whose integrity zomes match the live public network.
AD4M adds a sandbox that runs app JavaScript tools with time and memory limits
AD4M is an agent-centric social network and interoperability dApp framework. jhweir's pull request #1500 merged on 27 October 2026. It gives one ES module its own isolate and thread. Loading and each call have a 30 second limit by default, and the isolate has a 1 GiB memory cap by default.
When either limit is hit, that call fails with Timeout or OutOfMemory, and the next call starts a fresh isolate. The author says the Language bridge had no such limits, so one hung call blocked it for good.
The reason given is that an app's rules for its own data change with every release, so a Rust copy of them would drift. The executor runs the app's own JavaScript instead, and agents call it as tools. The next change in the stack connects WE's template tools to it.
Kitsune2 can now close a node, so peers stop waiting on it
Kitsune2 is a p2p and DHT communication framework. Pull request #679 by veeso merged on 28 October 2026 and adds a close step. Closing a node stops its network connections, tells the other nodes that it is leaving on purpose, and releases what it was holding.
Before this, dropping a node did not always release its connection. When a conductor restarted in the same process, the old node could stay connected and keep retrying the relay with outdated credentials. Other nodes do not mark a closed node as unreachable, so they stop waiting on it. Anyone who writes their own Kitsune, Transport or TxImp building blocks now needs a close method. Users of the shipped implementations need no changes.
Holochain, Kitsune2 and Holo Joining Service publish new releases
Kitsune2 published v0.6.0-dev.3 on 28 October and v0.5.3 on 29 October. Holochain published
holochain-0.8.0-dev.13 as a pre-release on 26 October. Holo Joining Service published v0.1.0 on 23 October, v0.1.1 on 24 October, v0.2.0 on 27 October, and v0.2.1 and v0.3.0 on 28 October.Raindex orders published v0.8.0 on 26 October and v0.8.1 on 28 October. Volla Messages published
happ-v1.0.4 as a pre-release on 28 October, and Moss published v0.16.0-rc.3-test.26 as a pre-release on 27 October.Map Holons retires a validation lookup, and Social Production resets its network
Map Holons provides storage, retrieval and querying of self-describing, active holons. Pull request #845 by owleyeview merged on 29 October 2026 and closes issue #831. It removes a global lookup of validation anchors that ran before each subject was prepared, so otherwise-valid Core successors are no longer rejected solely because they version a formerly required anchor.
Social Production, a platform for coordinating collective projects, merged pull request #62 by YMSVZ on 28 October. Its author notes that merging resets the project network. Requests and Offers merged pull request #348 on 27 October, so its 6 integrity zomes now check creates and updates on record operations too.
@Mbd06b committed on all 7 days, with 373 commits to Elohim
In the 7 days to 30 October 2026, 25 people committed, and 238 pull requests were merged by people. Separately, 40 automated updates were merged in 23–29 October.
@Mbd06b made 373 commits to Elohim, active 7 of 7 days. @solarpunked made 111 commits, active 7 of 7 days, across Flowsta Vault, ProofPoll and other projects. @StateofIntent made 210 commits to The Epistemic Resonance Protocol and Epistemic Resonance, active 6 of 7 days. @HexaField made 81 commits to AD4M, active 6 of 7 days, and @YMSVZ made 51 to Social Production, active 7 of 7 days.
For a builder this week, the upgrade path depends on the release. An Epistemic Resonance install on 0.3.x can take v0.3.1 as a patch. Anyone building their own Kitsune2 building blocks now needs a close method.
