What is Invitations and what is it for?
Invitations is a reusable Holochain module for creating and managing Invitations, both for individuals and for groups. It exists so that Holochain work which needs to invite people — its own description names calendars and team coordination — can build on that piece rather than write invitation handling from scratch.
Invitations is a module published by Holochain Open Dev, a group of Holochain developers who describe their work as open-source, modular and reusable. The repository presents it as a module for creating and managing individual or group Invitations, and points readers to a separate developer setup document for working on it.
Many apps need a way to invite someone — an individual, or a whole group. The invitation logic is written as a reusable piece for that job, so that a Holochain project which needs it can build on the module instead of writing its own. The module's own description names calendars and team coordination as the kinds of use it fits.
The README frames the code as targeting HDK 0.2x and tells developers on earlier versions to check other branches; the releases page lists no published releases, and the hAppRadar census records the repository's last push as 15 October 2023. Working on it starts from a Holochain development environment, then nix develop and npm install in the repository root, with end-to-end tests run through npm test.
