What is Perspect3ve and what is it for?
Perspect3ve is a general-purpose user interface and browser for AD4M, a framework in which each person holds their own data and shares it directly with others. It lets someone gather linked notes and links into a perspective and publish it as a shared neighbourhood a group can work in together, so the same tool can serve as a malleable social network as well as a group collaboration space.
Perspect3ve is described in its own repository as the general-purpose user interface and browser for AD4M, the place where the same data can always be viewed in a generic way even when other AD4M apps offer a more specific view. The repository labels it work in progress and under heavy development.
In the tool, a person creates a perspective and adds expressions to it, linking them into a graph rather than filing them in folders. A perspective can be published as a neighbourhood that others join, which is why the repository calls it a very generic social app and group collaboration tool. Because a neighbourhood carries its own Social DNA rules, the interface can be adapted to a group's needs, turning the same tool into a specific app.
One documented use is that adaptation: a group publishes a perspective as a neighbourhood and the tool interprets that neighbourhood's Social DNA to shape what its members see. The repository lists what it implements — creating and linking expressions, a graph-based perspective view, publishing and joining neighbourhoods, and an early AI chat for Social DNA creation — and it is where the project is documented, rather than a separate website.

Questions people ask
- How do I run Perspect3ve?
- The repository documents building and running it from source with yarn: install dependencies, build, then run the development build. Its GitHub releases are release-script test tags used to exercise CI build tooling rather than packaged user releases, so no downloadable installer is documented. source
- What is a perspective?
- A perspective is a space a person creates and fills with expressions that are linked to one another and shown as a graph. A perspective can then be published as a neighbourhood, which other people join, and the project's repository describes joining and publishing neighbourhoods as implemented features. source
- Has Perspect3ve been released?
- No packaged release is documented: the repository's releases page lists only tags named for a release script, the newest dated 12 July 2022, whose commit subjects concern macOS and Windows build tooling. hAppRadar's census records the most recent push to the repository in July 2024. source
