What is Legacy Holochain Runtime Archive and what is it for?
Legacy Holochain Runtime Archive is a Holochain backend that holds the earlier Rust implementation of the Prometheus pilot — a Permaculture DAO project about making claims of regenerative land work checkable. Its maintainers have since set it aside as a historical archive, so it preserves how the pilot backend was put together before the project opened a fresh working line, and it no longer governs that line.
The repository is the earlier Holochain backend for Prometheus, a Permaculture DAO project. Its own README now labels it a historical pre-v1.1 runtime archive: it keeps how the pilot backend was built before the project opened a fresh v1.1 line, and it does not govern that line.
Prometheus, as its maintainers describe it, is an attempt to make claims about regenerative work reviewable. This repository holds the backend rules of that effort — Holochain DNA and zome code, validation behaviour and pilot runtime logic — while the project keeps meaning and governance in a separate canonical repository.
In use the backend was reached through the Holochain app-interface used by a bridge layer, with a separate console handling the front end, and local command-line zome calls for debugging. To build it yourself, the repository documentation asks for a Rust toolchain and a Holochain development environment, then cargo build and cargo test.
How to get it
As a library
- Install a Rust toolchain and a Holochain development environment.
- Clone https://github.com/Permaculture-DAO/legacy-prometheus-happ-pre-v1.1 and enter the repository directory.
- Run cargo build to build the backend, then cargo test to run its tests.
- For application-facing integration the backend is reached through the Holochain app-interface used by the bridge layer; local command-line zome calls are documented as useful for debugging.
Questions people ask
- Is this the repository maintained for the current Prometheus runtime?
- No. The repository README states it is a historical pre-v1.1 runtime archive and is not part of the active v1.1 runtime path unless an artifact is explicitly reintroduced through review; it names prometheus-canon as the active canonical repository and prometheus-happ as the expected clean v1.1 runtime repository. source
- What does the repository contain?
- Its README lists DNA configuration, integrity and coordinator zomes, Cargo workspace files, hApp and webhapp manifests, command-line baseline code, bridge-facing message behaviour, and earlier build notes, verification files, checksums and detached signatures, all preserved as historical development evidence. source
- How do I build and test it?
- The repository documentation asks for a Rust toolchain and a Holochain development environment, then cargo build for the build and cargo test for the tests. source
