unyt-sandbox-iroh

What is unyt-sandbox-iroh and what is it for?

unyt-sandbox-iroh is an archived repository from the Unyt project that published a desktop application for communities to run their own credit and payments systems. It belongs to Unyt, a project built on Holochain in which each community runs its own version of the app with its own unit of account and its own rules.

unyt-sandbox-iroh is an archived repository from the Unyt project, published by Unyt Accounting. Its README carries the Unyt release notes and setup guide, and the repository also holds the project's testing documentation and test plan. The repository is recorded as archived, so nothing here describes a currently maintained build.

Unyt is a desktop application that lets a community set up and run its own credit and payments system. There is no single global Unyt installation: each community runs its own version, called an alliance, with its own unit of account and its own rules. Those rules are written as Smart Agreements, which participants in the alliance validate against one another. The application is built on Holochain, the framework for peer-to-peer applications.

In the project's Phase 4 testing, every tester joined one alliance that used ZF as its base unit, so participants could send and receive credits with anyone else in the test network and share the Smart Agreements they created. Unyt is documented at unyt.co/docs, and the same organisation's current sandbox line is at github.com/unytco/unyt-sandbox; this census repository is the archived one.
