What is DNA Auth Resolver and what is it for?

DNA Auth Resolver is a Holochain module and library set for letting separate application cells in a Holochain app call each other's functions. It exists to handle the permission side of those calls, mapping known request identifiers to zome and function names and acquiring capability tokens so one cell can authenticate its calls into another.

DNA Auth Resolver is a Holochain mixin zome and a set of Rust libraries for Holochain apps built from several coordinated application cells that need to talk to one another. Its README describes it as a simple configuration-based module for inter-network RPC in Holochain apps, and says it replaces what was formerly known as bridging in Holochain-Redux.

Each cell in such an app keeps its own data and exposes its own functions, and calling between them requires handing over permission. The module maps known request identifiers onto the zome and function names actually deployed in a DNA, and relies on an open-access endpoint at the pre-known remote_auth zome name in the destination DNA to issue capability tokens, which the calling side retrieves and supplies when it makes the call.

In practice a developer registers a permission identifier in the destination DNA's properties, pointing an external identifier at a target zome and function that may be called from outside, and the calling side asks for and reuses the matching claim. The repository's Usage section documents both the origin zome and destination DNA setup, and adds a troubleshooting note for a missing capability-storage entry definition.
